The Oguaa and Akonferehene of Asokore Traditional area, Nana Obeng Bediako Frimpong has donated Educational Materials worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Oguaa Primary and Junior High Schools in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region. The donation was done in collaboration with the Nana S.K.B Foundation.
Items donated to the schools included Computers, Customized Exercise Books, and Pens among other relevant materials.
Presenting the items on his behalf, Nana Obeng Bediako Frimpong, submitted that the gesture was part of his quest to put education on the front burner in his traditional area and beyond.
The revered chief who was enstooled on August 22, 2021, urged the pupils to put the items donated to them into judicious use while motivating them to study hard so that they can give back to society.
The chief also stated his intentions to renovate the computer laboratory and the classroom block to facilitate teaching and learning at Oguaa.
Other projects initiated by the Chief include the construction of an ultra-modern school park and the establishment of the Oguaa Educational Committee which was inaugurated at the function.
The core mandate of the committee is to raise funds to support the educational activities of the Oguaa traditional area. The committee is made up of representatives of the Oguaa Sub – Traditional Council, the local council of churches, representatives of PTAs, and Teachers.
Hon. Osei Adiyah, District Chief Executive officer (DCE) of Sekyere East District Assembly applauded the chief of Oguaa and the Nana SKB Foundation for such a laudable initiative.
The DCE appealed to all present to support such good initiatives since nation-building should be the combined effort of all. He again outlined some of the intentions of the Free SHS policy and advised the pupils to take advantage of such opportunities to better their lives since the youth are the future leaders of this country.
Mr. William Brako Agyapong, the District Director of Education who received the items on behalf of the schools thanked the chief and all present for such initiatives and promised to use the materials for their intended purpose. He also applauded the good efforts of the management of Nana SKB Foundation, Mr. Gyimah Minkah Andrews (CEO), and the Coordinators of the Foundation for their assistance in the educational development in the district. The staffs of the foundation were also not left out in his appreciation to Nana SKB Foundation.

On his part, Nana Susubribi Krobea Asante, Omanhene of Asokore Traditional Area extolled Nana Obeng Bediako Frimpong for such developmental initiatives and called on all to assist in the educational development of the Traditional Area.
During the presentation, Zion Melody Makers, a choir group, treated participants with soothing melodies. A former Ambassador to Namibia, Her excellency Ms. Afua Anima Daaku is the life patron of the choir group.
