ISODEC donates Research Reports to UGBS, Balme Library

The Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC), one of Ghana’s foremost Policy, Research and Advocacy Think Tanks has donated wide-ranging research reports to the Balme Library and the Department of Public Administration of University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).

The reports donated are titled,” C0VID-19 Impact Studies on the Natural Resources Sector of Five Anglophone countries in West; User Fees, Capitation Grant and the Quest for Free Universal Quality Education in Ghana: and analysis of the Income Tax Act from a civil Society Perspective with a Special Focus on Tax on Rent Income: Children’s Right and Welfare in Ghana; Ghana’ Budgeting Process: Who is Involved? Social Accountability&Poverty Reduction in Ghana.      

The Executive Director of ISODEC, Mr Sam Salifu Danse who presented the Reports to the institutions on separate events stated that the gesture was to help students acquire readily accessible research materials to enhance their studies.

Mr Danse underscored the need for Civil Society organizations to share more of their research findings with the academic institutions for the purposes edification rather than leaving them on their shelves to gather dust.   

He said there are also plans in place to donate some of the research reports to other tertiary institutions in the country.

Receiving the Reports, Professor Abdul-Gafaru Abdulai of the Department of Public Administration at the University of Ghana Business School, thanked ISODEC for the gesture and called for effective collaboration between academia and civil society since their work in the area of research complement each other.  

Representatives of the Balme Library also commended ISODEC for the gesture and urged other civil society groups to emulate such move.
