Asante Kotoko have lost their appeal against former coach CK Akonnor over his wrongful dismissal in July last year.
The Porcupine Warriors are to pay the now Black Stars coach a hefty severance package for terminating his contract.
This was after a Ghana FA Player Status Committee ruled in October 2019 and found the club guilty of breach of contract.
A statement on the Ghana FA website read: ”The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has upheld the decision of the Player Status Committee with respect to the contractual dispute between Coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor and Asante Kotoko SC.”
Akonnor was sacked just nine months into his three-year contract.
He dragged the club to the Ghana Football Association demanding his two years salary, league trophy cash, and CAF Confederations Cup group stage entitlements.
Akonnor rejected an offer to head the club’s technical directorate and left his post under bitter circumstances.
