Founder and president of Clothe the Naked Outreach (CTN), Mr Stephen Paa Kwesi Quainoo has called for support from donors and individuals to help provide better education and cloths for the poor and needy.
A major challenge facing orphans and abandoned children in orphanages and children in the villages of Ghana, is the lack of money to finance their formal education. There are many children who are not schooling, which indicates clearly that, even the subsidized basic education system in Ghana is still not affordable to some people, he said.
During an interview with Public Agenda, Mr Quinoo said ‘’currently we don’t have donors; we pull our individual contributions together to fund our projects. We are membership based charity organization-so we all doing our individual jobs and we pay monthly dues to fund our charity projects.
He explained that “our CTN Scholarship Aid funds the education of orphans and abandoned children. We provide all the educational needs of our beneficiaries from basic school through to college or university level.”
According to him, Ten (10) children are currently benefiting from CTN Scholarship Aid and the outreach hopes to expand its reach to 100 children in the near future.
He disclosed that their aim is to eradicate poverty and end every form of segregation all over the world that is why they are pleading with the government, donors and individuals to support them to make their dream a reality.
He added that, the outreach has been facing some major challenges. One of them is the lack of clothes bank- a place where we can repackage and temporary store solicited used clothes before distribution.
The outreach which was founded in 2010 has provided clothing assistance for orphanages, psychiatric hospitals, persons and deprived communities and over 10,000 people have benefited from the clothing assistance.
‘’we have made donations to the Good Shepherd Orphanage, donated machetes and clothes to farmers in Matse Dzorpke in the Volta and donated to some of the prisons in Ghana among others.’’
We are counting on your kind support to raise funds for our CTN Scholarship Aid to ensure that as many children as possible can have an opportunity to shape their future through education.\
