KCCC Fights Fake Prophets

Persons parading themselves as prophets in the Ashanti Region will soon incur the wrath of the Kumasi Council of Christian Churches (KCCC).

The council has expressed worry about the rising incidence of quacks duping people. They are crooks who present themselves as prophets, according to the council.

The council is spearheading a campaign to rid the region of the crooks. Dubbed: “Jesus Campaign Against False Prophets & Teachers, As Kumasi Stands In Worship And Prayers For Asanteman & Ghana,” the crusaders numbering 27 will from 12th December to 14th December engage in an awareness creating programme against the crooks.

Preceding it is a mega march through the principal streets of Kumasi followed by an evening crusade. The climax of the programme will be a two-day seminar which would educate pastors and church members on how to identify fake men of God and the repercussions of following the crooks.

Billed to speak at the event would be Most Rev. Prof Emmanuel Asante, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana; Chairman of the National Enforcement Body of the Political Parties Code of Conduct 2012 and Chairman of the National Peace Council, Arch. Dr. S R Addae; and Rev. Ransford Obeng.

The rest are Rev. Dr Steve Asante, Elder Bismark Amoah (Bohye), Most Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Dr. Mrs Dorothy Danso, amongst others.

KCCC, by its action, joins many others who have expressed disapproval about the activities of the fake prophets.

Elder Bismark Amoah has spoken on many platforms about fake prophets and their effects on the vulnerable in the society.

He has often said: “Selling of oil is not in the Bible because the past prophets who used it never sold it so the Bible never directed us to sell it”.

He noted in a video message some time ago that, “Payment of consultation fee in efforts to see a pastor was also not in the Bible. As I pray for long life for Anas, I also plead with him to start an investigation into the activities of the church. Some of the activities undertaken by some pastors are clearly anti-Christ. However, they have devised ways that make these activities look Christ-like.”
